Mostviertel mountain adventure

Visitors are often amazed at just how mountainous the region is. The mountains of the Mostviertel – including the Ötscher, Dürrenstein and Hochkar – rise to heights of just under 2.000 metres and provide magnificent panoramic views. 1.500 km of hiking trails and 1.350 km of mountain bike routes criss-cross the region.

The word "Ötscher" is of Slavic origin and means "father mountain".
